Karen Collins Backroads & Bayous is a reflection of Karen's two musical passions, early country music and traditional Cajun music. Karen, a singer and fiddle player is a coal miner's daughter from Southwest Virginia, who grew up listening to country music. With this CD she approaches the two styles as close first cousins with a similar spirit. Karen performs regularly with two groups; the acoustic quartet, The Blue Moon Cowgirls and the Cajun band, Squeeze Bayou. Both groups are featured on this recording along with singers Dede Wyland and Ric Sweeny.
