Zoe Mulford
Traveling Moon
ACCD-0406
Songwriter Zoe Mulford's first fully produced album is lyrical and humorous by turns, tracing a journey away from home and back again with deep affection. Mulford's clear, unaffected vocals are complemented by musicians as diverse as jazz flautist Al Williams, cellist Diana McFadden, and Elftones guitarist Roger Gold. "Party Cows", a story of bovine bad girls on the town, has become a favorite on WETA's "Traditions", while "Life is Too Short to Fold Underwear" strikes a chord with many live audiences.
"I don't usually like folk music, but that underwear song is pretty good."
