Zlatne Uste Balkan Brass Band
In the Center of the Village
ACCD-9903
Zlatne Uste (Golden Lips) celebrates the joyful power of Balkan brass.
Haunting or raucous, plaintive or flirtatious, the tunes on this album
- from Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Serbia - bring you to the crossroads of
East and West and the heart of Balkan traditions.
In this, their third recording, New York's own Balkan brass band features
Romany songs and driving coceks as well as more traditional Slavic tunes,
and captures the atmosphere of a dance in the village square - its energy,
its spontaneity, and its sense of community.
So take hands and join us in the center of the village.
Zlatne Uste is an internationally known group of American-born musicians
performing in the Bulgarian, Macedonian, Serbian, and Romany (Gypsy) brass
