Ruthie
and the Wranglers
Ruthie and the Wranglers play rockin’ American Roots music (also known as
FUN!). Praised for their original upbeat songs, their first two albums were
among the Top 20 of the Americana Radio Charts.
These musical night owls continue their clever songwriting skills, penned
by Billboard Magazine as "...nothing short of brilliant," as they
deliver their all original album Someday. Ranking in the Top 20 to
Top 50 on the Americana, Roots, and Roots Country radio charts, Someday
was named "Album of the Year" by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA).
Attending Bluegrass festivals, private guitar lessons and watching Country
TV stars like Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn, combined with her rock ‘n’ roll
and punk-influenced college days is what inspired Logsdon to create the beginning
of Ruthie and theWranglers. Add Ruthie’s favorite musicians and you get diverse
talent and unstoppable energy.
Ruth Logsdon, lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter, and the band
have racked up more than 25 WAMMIES including 2003 Best Country Vocalist and
2000 Songwriter of the Year.
Phil Mathieu, one of the hottest roots/rock players from a town known for
its pickers, is full of surprises with his prowess on B-bender Telecaster,
nylon string guitar and mandolin. Phil, who performed with the late Charlie
Byrd, was named Washington Area’s Best Classical Instrumentalist and nominated
for 2003 Musician of the Year.
Greg Hardin brings his lead vocals, backing harmonies and bull’s eye bass
guitar beat to the band’s primo show. Aside from his own striking compositions,
Greg and Ruthie have teamed up to write some of their most engaging songs
to date. Greg is a musician with a passion for creating timeless lyrics with
true musical spirit.
"Someday is clearly the product of many days well spent writing and
recording songs – songs vibrant or clever enough to make most of what passes
for country music these days sound dead on arrival."

I SAY TOMATO
I say tomato,
you say it's over
I say potato, you say we're through
I think we oughta try, you wanna let it die
I say tomato, you say we're through
Let's call the whole thing off, is on your mind
Please darlin' don't give up, true love's so hard to find
I'm cryin, you're walkin, further away,
You listen, but you're missin,' each word I say
I say tomato, you say it's over
I say potato, you say we're through
I think we ought try, you wanna let it die
I say tomato, you say we're through
I've got no answer, lord knows I wanna try
You got your answer, but I can't bear goodbye
I'm cryin,' you're walkin,' on down the line
You listen, but you're missin,' my words each time
Let's call the whole thing off, is on your mind
Please darlin' don't give up, true love's so hard to find
I'm cryin,' you're walkin,' on down the line
You listen, but you're missin,' my words each time
I say tomato, you say it's over
I say potato, you say we're through
I think we ought try, you wanna let it die
I say tomato, you say we're through

SOMEDAY
Someday she's gonna
miss you
Someday you'll see
Someday she'll be a long gone gal like me.
Someday she's gonna miss you
Someday you'll see
Someday she'll be a long gone gal like me.
Someday she's gonna hate you
Someday you'll find
Someday she'll have a cold cold heart like mine.
You pretend you don't see it comin'
Tell yourself that everything is fine
But you might just get hit hard enough that you might not recover this time
Someday she'll get the picture
Someday I know
Someday she'll find herself and let you go.
Someday she's gonna miss you
Someday you'll see
Someday she'll be a long gone gal like me.
Someday she's gonna miss you.
