Joined at the Hip

Hey, hey, people step aside (do the slide)
Make way for my buddy and his lovely bride
Doing a brand new step
Got the best moves yet
Destined to endure

How you do it ain't no trick at all (Not at all)
Just keep your partner by your side
And you never will fear the fall
'Cause you're altogether whole
Body, heart and soul
So solid, sound and sure

While those witch doctors were dispensing
Those ounces of prevention
They stepped out and got cured

Joined at the hip
Don't give 'em no lip
Been that way
From the moment that they met
Head over heels
They'll have a nice trip
Joined at the hip

All you'll ever need is a little nerve (Got to find your nerve)
To take out a little guardrail on that learning curve
And trust that love within
And let your life begin
Your hearts will lead the way

Right before us stands the honest truth (Got to tell the truth)
Lift your glass to the everlasting here
In in the bloom of youth
'Cause waiting right outside
Is the world's most thrilling ride
And it's taking off today

So let every Divine intervention
Be heaven's best intention
See that they stay

Joined at the hip
Don't give 'em no lip
Been that way
From the moment that they met
Head over heels
They'll have a nice trip
Joined at the hip

Yeah, yeah, yeah
La la la la

So let every Divine intervention
Be heaven's best intention
Make sure that they stay

Joined at the hip
Good lovin' don't quit
Been that way
From the moment that they met
Head over heels
Gonna be a sure enough mighty fine trip
Joined at the hip
(They'll be movin' on up now)
Joined at the hip
(So in love)

Land That Forgot Time
I'm an old man eating dinner
Somewhere in Wyoming
Got my false teeth working
On a microwave medallion

Got the headlines lying
Right here beside my coffee
Got the storm clouds gathering
All around my chimney

I'm pushing back my chair
I'm lingering at the stair
And I'll sleep on the sofa more than not
In the land that time forgot

In the morning I'm going driving
Down to St. Francis Chapel
Gonna make it down to the funeral
Of my not-so-old friend Hansel

I'm gonna gaze upon him lying
While I kneel beside that coffin
While the relatives are all gathering
I'm gonna pray, please Lord, forgive me

There ain't no one left down here
Why don't I feel you near?
Later on alone at home I'll have a shot
In the land that time forgot

Well, I never wanted children
And I never took a wife
I ask myself, what are you doing
The rest of your life?
Whatever is honing down my bones
Now cuts me like a knife

I'm an old man in the morning
That rooster keeps on crowing
I'm fumbling into my dungarees
Those weeds  gonna keep on growing
I'm gonna make it up to that mailbox
Gonna check to find there's nothing
But a pamphlet advertising
A pizza shop or something

I feel a drop of rain
It's drumming in my brain
And I'm wondering when's it ever gonna stop
