Washington Post Nov. 14th, 1999:

Call it a fiddle, call it a violin - in Andrea Hoag's hands, it's simply a marvelous string instrument that fits into myriad traditions and fuels many cross-cultural fusions. Hoag, celebrating the release of her album "Fire & Water," is perhaps best known as a champion of Scandinavian music, but her playing defies borders, embracing Celtic and British traditions and Southern Appalachian styles, among others.
